Meet Our Founder
Courtney Lorenz
Founder, Fermented Foods Nerd & Kombucha Believer
What started as a personal journey to heal herself turned into a mission to help others do the same.
Courtney Lorenz is a certified culinarian, nutritionist, and full-blown fermented foods nerd who founded Cultured Kombucha Co. out of a deep belief in the healing power of living foods. After navigating autoimmune challenges of her own, she discovered the transformative potential of kombucha—and knew she had to share it.
As Northern Michigan’s first kombucha brewer, Courtney’s passion is rooted in both science and soul. Her background in culinary arts and nutrition allows her to craft kombucha that’s as functional as it is flavorful—always made with integrity, intention, and a little bit of magic.
Whether she’s behind the brew tanks or speaking on gut health and sustainable food systems, Courtney brings energy, expertise, and heart to everything she does. She’s not just on a mission to brew the best kombucha possible—she’s here to change how we nourish ourselves, and each other.
